Movement for Attention with Intention
Kiera Penpeci Yoga

As they say, “the new generational wealth is a balanced nervous system”. Let’s pass it on.
My Offering
I’m Kiera Penpeci (she/they), a yoga instructor and Organizational Psychologist, and I embrace yoga philosophy as a way of life. As a movement practice, I teach an approach to yoga that uses physical therapy principles to help people heal injury, build longevity, and empower their own autonomy in their movement journey.
That is not to say that the East Asian and African traditions of yoga were created just for our individual wellbeing. As a spiritual practice, the more subtle side of my offering, I use cues to help people grow their interoception (body sense) and build their understanding of their own body and mind puzzle so they can grow their practice beyond my class and beyond the mat. In my experience, this is where the magic comes in!
I believe that being intentional about where we hold our attention is critical for our wellbeing, and like a muscle, we can build our endurance for slowing down, listening, and redirecting our energy toward actions that are truly values aligned and considerate of their collective impact. If we begin to value the power of our attention, we’re spending more time in gratitude and other cognitive states that have positive mental health outcomes.
In my professional work and in the studio, I have the privilege of witnessing in-the-moment, strategic nervous system regulation from people in the communities I serve. I believe more than ever that emotional regulation is a critical skill for us to help manage the toll the stress of the daily grind may have on our wellbeing, and if we’re truly committed to yoga’s origins, we can leverage this attunement in day-to-day moments to find ways to contribute to the liberation of all of us.

I teach public group classes exclusively at JP Centre Yoga in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, one of Yelp’s top 100 local US businesses of 2025. Most importantly, JP Centre is a sacred community space for yoga practitioners across many walks of life. It’s an honor to welcome you there! My schedule and class styles are shared below. All classes are livestream, virtual, or can be recorded:
Slow Flow & Roll
Roll over, then flow in. In this class we will use a combination of slow flow yoga, massage therapy balls, and breathwork to observe our practice with more subtlety. We will explore where we might unknowingly be holding patterns of deep tension that prevent us from true ease and freedom. We will then work therapeutically to help improve both mobility and stability and alleviate pain. Expect to activate the body in a strong yet gentle way with movement, as well as linger for longer periods with the massage balls to give our muscles, connective tissues, and our mind a place to reset and find sustainable balance.
Livestream participants can use available home props such as tennis balls, dryer balls, small cans, etc…
Mixed Levels
Thursdays 7am & Fridays 4pm @ JP Centre Yoga
This flow-based (vinyasa) styled class unites movement and form. Designed for new and experienced students alike, classes are intended to be vigorous, yet made accessible with a variety of options within poses. Expect to engage in dynamic movement with integrated deep, long holds. This style of yoga builds core power, stretches, strengthens and cleanses the body, and offers the opportunity for deep healing and release.
For any person tending to their wellbeing, yoga is a place stay grounded on your chosen path. The “bio-psycho-social-spiritual” components of the practice allows those who engage with it to tune in more closely to their inner experience, understand themselves better, and make better choices to regulate their their nervous systems.
